We opened Drury 188-189 in December 2016, our vision was simple: to create a space where people could relax, disconnect, and enjoy the small, meaningful moments in life. Now, nearly eight years later, we’re filled with gratitude as we reflect on how much we’ve grown, thanks to you—our amazing customers.

We, Ali and Cemal, left behind our careers in security and education to follow our dream of creating a cafe that was more than just a spot to get a coffee. We envisioned a welcoming space where people could feel at home, savour delicious food, and truly connect with each other. From the very beginning, our goal was to craft a cafe experience that stood out among the countless options in London.
What sets Drury 188-189 apart is our commitment to creating genuine connections and moments. We intentionally chose not to offer WiFi, encouraging our guests to engage with each other and their surroundings. We also curated a selection of books that you can borrow whilst enjoying the ambience and a great cup of coffee.
